There are a variety of shaving mugs available. Like those ubiquitous mugs that hold our morning Joe, shaving mugs make great gifts.
With careful maintenance (in other words, don’t drop the darn thing) a good quality shave mug will last a lifetime.
When choosing a shaving mug, make sure that you can reach the bottom of the mug with your brushes’ bristles. It should also be wide enough to allow you to move your shaving brush inside the mug to create the lather. And it should have a good and strong handle to withstand even the most vigorous lathering.
Colonel Ichabod Conk provides a full line of shaving mugs, some of which are made of porcelain and others are made from pewter. Some feature outdoor motifs with ducks, pheasants, bear, deer or elk painted on them. Others prominently display messages like “World’s Greatest Dad”—well, you get the idea.
